Laureen Sassano
Laureen Sassano, 62, of Catasauqua, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 in the comfort of her home with her family. She was the loving wife of Peter Sassano. She was an excellent nurse, ranking second highest in her nursing class. Following the loss of her son, Michael, she helped found Parents Reaching Out to Parents (PROP), a self-help group for parents who have experienced the death of a child. She was a member of Compassionate friends of the Lehigh Valley, a support group for grieving parents, where she helped collate the newsletter and wrote articles for many years. Laureen was a very talented artist. Survivors: Husband, Peter and son, Phillip, both of Catasauqua; daughter, Adriana DiNenno and son-in-law, Joe DiNenno, Jr. of Coatesville, PA, daughter, Stefanie Schrampf and son-in-law Erik Schrampf of Phoenixville, PA; grandchildren, Aiden and Claire Schrampf. She was predeceased by a son, Michael. Services: A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Nicos C.
