John H. Willever John H. Willever passed away on Jan. 19, 2018, at the age of 68. He was the son of the late Elmer J. Willever, whose family was one of the Delaware Valley's earliest settlers, arriving in Amwell Township in 1732. John's mother, the late Margaret Donnelly Willever, a native of Dundee, Scotland, was a longtime employee of Herr & Fisher's law firm in Flemington, NJ. She passed away in 1975. John attended grammar school in Flemington, NJ, was a Boy Scout, wrestler, and a Little League all star. He graduated from Hunterdon Central H.S. in 1967, where he was a varsity football, baseball, and wrestling athlete. He attended Iowa Wesleyan College, where he continued to play three sports. Leaving college after a year, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving two years overseas, during the Vietnam War. Two years later, after discharge from the Marine Corps, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. After returning home, he took to the road, where he remained the rest of his life. John never married. He is survived, by his sister, Terry Smith of Forks Twp, PA, and a brother, William H. Willever of Stockton, NJ. Two younger brothers, Kevin and Randy, passed away in 2010. Under a hard shell, beat a soft heart, who looked down on no one. Although passing without notoriety, John should be remembered for service to his country. Let's hope the world he has gone to is more receptive than the one he left. May he dance with angels forever.
