It's been mostly a fun and interesting life! I've always had a rebellious, fun loving side and that has probably been my saving grace from what could have been a lot of messes. I remember high school as a great place to be and look back on all the classes I wish I had taken and the clubs I wish I had joined, but that never stopped me from moving forward! I would say that the greatest priviledge of my life was moving myself and my Mom from Coastal Georgia to Knoxville TN where my sister, Kathy lives, and moving Mom in with me. Being able to take care of her with Kathy's help was amazing! But the biggest thing was being able to give a little back to a wonderful mother who gave me much! |

I graduated from Hunter College in 1973 after spending two years at Pratt Institute earning a BA in Art Education. I had a brief fling as a fashion stylist in Manhatten before moving back to the country i.e. rural Virginia where I had friends. I spent my early 20's with my boyfriend having fun - hitch hiking around the country, living on the land, dancing in the moonlight, exploring different carreers until I decided to use my degree and be a teacher. As Virginia did not offer art in their public school curriculum in the 70's, I went into early childhood education. I met and married my husband, Arthur Craig in the early 80's, and, as he came with two children, I had a ready made family. Arthur was a contractor and carpenter so we moved into an old barn and turned it into a lovely home. Two more children followed, a boy and a girl, and as we began to look for education options, I discovered Waldorf Education. In 1994, I returned to school and earned a MEd from Antioch New England Graduate School. I started a small Waldorf school but eventually moved from our barn, building a home in Madison county and taking a job in an accredited Waldorf school. I have now been a licensed Waldorf teacher for 21 years and am still loving it. Arthur has retired but I have no plans to do so immediately. The kids are all grown and happy. We now have 5 grandchildren with hopes for more. When I finally do retire, I plan to explore being a baker and chocolatier.

So here are some highlights of my life story to date— I married Thomas J. Daku on August 3, 1968. We began our newlywed adventure in Ringoes on Boss Rd. Tom and I moved to Maine for about a year in 1969, living in Phillips, and then, Sanford, Maine. We moved back to New Jersey in late 1970, and I started working at Educational Testing Service in Princeton, as a technical writer. In October 1971, our first son was born. I continued my very non-traditional higher education path while continuing to work at ETS in Princeton until the birth of our second son. In the mid-seventies, I started free- lance writing for the Lambertville-based Beacon and the Hunterdon County Democrat. Our last of four sons was born in March 1979. Between 1979 and 1985, I crammed in a few diversely different jobs—working as Assistant Director at a Liberty Village outlet store, Georges Briard Factory Outlet, followed by working as a legal secretary at Beetel and Hamilton in Flemington. In July 1985, Tom and I uprooted our family and moved to Farmington, Maine where we purchased a 300- acre dairy farm. In addition to helping my husband on the farm, I returned to work as an Executive Assistant to the director of what was then called Franklin County Community Action Council, a nonprofit serving three western Maine counties, and continued my educational path at the University of Maine Farmington. In 1989, I left Community Action to become an editor of a weekly newspaper, the Livermore Falls Advertiser. In late 1993, I returned to the community action world, as Marketing and Communications Director for Western Maine Community Action, the renamed Franklin County Community Action Council. I continued to work for WMCA in a variety of positions over the years— Human Resources Director, Director of Development, and Program Director for two state-wide programs— until my “retirement” in July 2016. Since then, I’ve worked as a consultant for my one-person consulting company, Crickett Consulting. I continue to work on a couple of different books, simply for the joy of writing. I’ve been encouraged to submit a collection of poetry-like essays for publication, but don’t feel that it’s quite “there” yet. In August, Tom and I will celebrate 50 years of marriage. Our four sons have blessed us with 12 grandchildren. We are looking forward to the possibility of great-grandchildren. We are also blessed to be living in an area prized for its mountains, lakes and streams, a true “vacationland”. This “bio” would not be complete without including the most significant information about me. I am alive by the grace of my God and Savior and His redemption and protection of me. I seek to live for Him in all that I do and hope that my life will be a light that points others to Him and draws them near. |

I totally enjoyed my high school years, but afterwards it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to be. I turned down Penn State and Boston U, went to a small girls jr college, then quit to get married. I had a beautiful daughter- Joelle. LAter was a hippie and lived off the land in West Virginia. Had a son. finally went back and finished college, and then to the Osteopathic medical school in Lewisburg, WVa near the Greebrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs. I'm now boarded in 4 specialties. I am a physician and currently working from home for a company that has contracts with CMS. We do fraud, waste, and abuse work for Medicaid and Medicare. I had to give up my busy FP, nursing home, and hospital practice in 2011 due to worsening back problems. I just recently went part time with the company to slow down a bit and enjoy more of life. I got married--and divorced--three times. The last one was my vaccination for marriage, as I had to give him half of everything and pay alimony for three years. Thank you Gloria Stenheim! Won't do that again. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and being in Flemington again. My daughter-Joelle- is an alum and lives in Manville. My son- Josh- currently lives in Colorado Springs. I live in Sun City Center, Florida (it's about half way between Tampa and Saasota). I am single. |

Comment: After high school, I attended Somerset County Vo-tech for business administration. I graduated this course, # 1 in my class , with a 4.0 GPA . The band I was in , The Moss , decided it would be cool to move to Colorado, live in the mountains , and write music .It got too cold for us , so we moved on to San Francisco. SF was a real learning experience , to say the least, but it became time to move back to NJ. After moving back home , that band broke up and we put together , in my opinion , the best version of the Moss band.Approximately one year later, I experienced a still un-diognosed hearing condition that took away 50-65% of my hearing [ to this day , there is no cure for my condition ]. I quit the Moss. I was devasted . Bruce Springsteen and Danny Federici offered me a spot in the E Street Band 5 times over a 5 year period , but I had to turn them down. I moved to Florida in 1974 , working as a sales rep for several music companies. After becoming manager of a large chain store calleed Thoroughbred Music for 8 years , I decided to open my own business, from 1989 to 2014. I am now retired and I still live in Venice, Fl. I have a beautiful daughter and grand daughter, and I still work in the music business supplying sound systems for outdoor events.I have not performed live in 45 years . |

The last fifty years have been packed with adventure, change and challenge, including at least 25 moves and numerous job assignments. I married my high school sweetheart Barbara in 1972. (Barbara attended Ewing High while I was at HCHS). We have three wonderful daughters and four grandsons. During our 45 years of marriage, we have lived in Germany, Austria, Boston, New York, California, Lake Tahoe, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Colorado. I spent much of my career in the sporting goods, outdoor and active lifestyles industry. Currently I'm helping a brilliant scientist build a fast-growing nutraceutical company in Colorado. After HCHS my goal was to reach the NBA, so I went to Lafayette College to play basketball. After making the team as the worst player on a very good team, I realized an MBA was more in reach than the NBA; however I still play fairly competitive basketball every weekend. And I graduated with an MBA from Harvard in 1974. From there it's been a crazy ride. Barbara and I are currently working diligently on a plan for what we'll do when we grow up, including where we will live. BTW, we are open to suggestions. Thanks to those who have organized this event. See you soon. |

After high school I went to college and graduated in 1972. I met and married my husband, Renn in 1973. Renn was a police officer and later a detective and juvenile officer with Princeton Township Police. I worked in the math-physics library at Princeton University before starting our family. Renn and I were blessed with three daughters and I was a stay at home mom for several years before returning to work as an elementary school librarian. Renn sadly passed away in 2010. After that I retired to help my aging parents and baysit my grandkids. I am grateful for having my three wonderful daughters and sons in laws in my life, and eight grandchildren who call me "Grammie." I find joy in simple pleasures like taking walks, biking, hiking, watching my grandkids, maintaining my 100 year old house, church activities and getting together with close friends. |
